What is Gel Memory Foam Mattress?
Mattresses made of memory foam are popular mattresses as they provide comfort and quality. Memory foam, or viscoelastic foam, conforms to your body, helps to disperse body weight more evenly, and provides pressure-point relief. Gel memory foam is similar to traditional memory foam with one huge difference - gel.
Gel memory foam mattresses are made by adding gel to memory foam or adding gel on top of the comfort layer. Thus, a gel memory foam mattress gets a cooling feature in addition to body-conforming and pressure-relieving features. Cooling gel takes heat and allows you to sleep cool.
The cool gel mattress may differ from manufacture to manufacture, so not all mattresses may have the same cooling effect. Plus, the structure of the other mattress layers and how hot you get at night affect the performance of gel memory foam. Some gel memory foam beds may have better cooling abilities than others.
In addition to memory foam and gel memory foam types, the mattresses can be hybrid or all-foam mattresses. Gel memory foam usually performs better in a hybrid mattress because the layer of coils enhances the mattress's breathability.
